Seasonal Progress Report

Official Seasonal Accounting Office. Est. 2026. Not affiliated with any meteorological authority.

About the Office

The Seasonal Accounting Office was established to answer a question nobody urgently asked: exactly what percentage of the current season has elapsed, at this precise moment, expressed to one decimal place. We believe precision is a form of respect, even when applied to something that was already going to happen regardless of our involvement.

Methodology

Each season is defined by its calendar boundaries and measured from its first day to its last. Your browser's local clock is compared against those boundaries and the resulting fraction is multiplied by one hundred. This is, technically, math. We stand behind it.

The Office draws no distinction between hemispheres, climates, or personal feelings about a given season. If it is, by the calendar, autumn where you are reading this, it is autumn. We are not equipped to argue otherwise.

On the Facts

Pressing the fact button returns one officially issued statement about the current season, drawn at random from our archive. Statements are true in the sense that they are, generally speaking, true. The archive photograph accompanying each statement is refreshed on request; astute visitors may notice it looks almost exactly like the previous one. This is intentional and also unavoidable.

Why This Matters

It doesn't, particularly. The season will finish at the same moment whether or not you are watching a progress bar move toward it. But you are here now, and the bar is moving, and there is something to be said for watching time pass in a format with a border-radius.
